The Heat of Summer
Well, I guess we’re truly in it – everyone is feeling the heat!
A couple weeks ago, I mentioned that it was feeling like there was a little “crazy” in the air and I was feeling like I was on uneven ground. Thank you to everyone who reached out to share their own versions of “uneven ground.” It’s always nice to feel like I’m not alone in this! And the fact is that you are probably on my list specifically because we are on the same wavelength. 🙂

I also got the nicest review this week that I wanted to share with you because it just distilled into words what I strive for with every person I work with:
Beyond the tangible results, what I value most is Jenell’s integrity, professionalism, and genuine commitment to her clients’ success. I always felt that I had a true partner—someone who was just as invested in my success as I was.
So in addition to the actual business results (great employees added, a better bottom line each month in the business, new clients added) she’s feeling the best part of coaching, the warm fuzzies that go with “I’m not in this ALONE any longer!” Thank you Crystal!

Okay, so back to the heat.
I’m encountering Summer Brain right now across the board. What is that you ask?
Summer Brain is a combination of heat calling you to be on vacation and yet exhausting you all the same. We have SOOO many things to do that summer invites us to be BUSY.
Busy working hard, busy playing hard, busy handling the things that can only be done in good weather (anyone else here have the gardening itch?) We are BUSY trying to fit vacation into an already packed schedule. Oh, and then life happens to throw hiccups into our plans.
How does Summer Brain affect us? Confusion. It pulls at our clarity and often disrupts the patterns and systems that so effectively keep us on track through the rest of the year. Once out of our helpful patterns/routines, we default back to those no-longer-helpful routines and lose focus.
Summer Brain can really slow business down – it can squash any great marketing effort. It also leads to a desperate fall…
How do we fix it?
We create a plan and then take HUGE action to stay on track.
You double down on those habits and routines that serve you well. You put in a few more “check in” points – like your Weekly Motivator tool! (Don’t have it? Simply send me an email, and I’ll send it to you asap! )
Hint: Gratitude isn’t just for times when it all feels like it’s falling apart! It’s for when it’s going really well too!
Interested in upping your game of gratitude?
With that said, go jump in the pool and work out your plan to stay in action and defeat Summer Brain while also enjoying the long days and summer fun. Or grab a nice drink at a local coffee shop and map it out… and then be like Nike and “Just Do It”
Heading into the pool now – enjoy those final days of summer.
