It’s the official start of the Holiday Business Blues – that time when all the socializing and obligations overwhelm our business activities.
But we have TWO WHOLE MONTHS left in the year as of right now – that is 1/6th of your revenue potential – and it can come as a gold mine or a quick sand pit.
Don’t get caught in the slump!
Here are some quick ideas about what to do THIS WEEK to get a jump on the holiday distractions.
Even one of these can help you avoid the traps of holiday socializing, shopping, family time, vacation-itis and all the other indulgences this time of year.
1. Get a business buddy or accountability partner.
If you don’t have one – what?! – get one NOW. Pronto!
If you do have one but you’ve been slacking off, then make a new commitment to each other and make it work. This is the single best tool in your “get it done” tool kit.
2. Find a new way to stay connected to your big “why” so that you continue to be thinking and taking action to move your dream forward despite the distractions.
Journal.
Put up a new vision board (but don’t spend too much time making it, please.)
Put sticky notes on the bathroom mirror.
Put a new screen saver on your computer or phone to keep you focused on your dream.
Whatever works for you… just keep it in front of you seven days a week – no time for weekends off or holidays for your dreams!
3. Plan something that forces you to stay focused: launch a new program, add a new social media platform into your routine, find a way to incorporate the holidays into your business.
4. Offer a special.
People freely spend this time of year and love deals!
Take advantage: offer a special; create a new package or class; does a gift with purchase work?; referral sources love treats – create a special one for the “end of the year.”
It’s particularly nice if this can be offered at all your holiday socializing.
5. Create some goals around all the added holiday socializing.
There is a LOT of time coming up that isn’t “strictly business” networking – but there may be great opportunities to connect with people who don’t know what you do, or don’t understand it, or better yet – haven’t heard about your amazing end of year offer!
Have some clear goals about what conversations you want to have at your “non-business” social gatherings.
If any of these sound interesting, but you don’t know how to implement them in your own business, I’d be happy to help!
I’d also love to hear your ideas about how you are going to avoid the holiday slump.
