I’m getting really tired of hearing people preach about changing mindset and then walking away from the problem like they’ve just waived a magic wand and magically the world changes once and for all.
It’s a lie! Change takes commitment.
You can wave the magic wand of mindset and all of a sudden, it’s like the person who was color blind can now see all the colors in the world (magic!) True. BUT the color blind person now has to remember to put on those nifty glasses all the time, and has to learn how to adjust to their new reality.
Think about how shocking to your system it would be to go from seeing red and green to the full rainbow.
Go ahead and let that soak in for a minute.
Just because you could see the rainbow, doesn’t necessarily mean you WANT to. Nor does it always mean that you can easily figure out how to fit all those new colors in to your daily life.
Change is like that some times. It sounds like a good idea in theory, and maybe it’s a super cool thing to have changed, but then you settle back into your real life and, well, now what?
Is it even worth the trouble to keep the life altering change?
So mindset and your business… maybe you do some work with a coach and find a new, amazingly supportive mindset. If you don’t do something to SUPPORT that new attitude, it will vanish and you will slip back into something probably very similar to what you had before.
Mindset shifting is a two part process: the change (that’s sexy and exciting and the best part!) and the support (this is where the rubber meets the road.)
So I ask – what would you like to have be different? And what would it take in your life to support that change if it happened?
(I’ll give you a tip though – it’s the support part of the process where it’s best to have someone to actually support you!)
If you would like help identifying where you are hanging up your own progress and what it would take to hold onto the change – email me. I am offering a complementary Mindset Session.
